Overview

Once you've completed the design of a part, you've still got a long way to go before you can manufacture it. Modern CAD tools offer powerful analysis and simulation packages that take the tedious work out of finite element analysis. Learn how to use the tools that are built into various CAD packages to analyze the performance of your designs under real-world conditions, and use the results to improve product performance and safety.
  • Research the methods available for stress testing your designs.
  • Compare how alternative designs would behave under real-world stresses.
  • Analyze your parts for stress, displacement, and factor of safety.

Syllabus

  • Course 1: SOLIDWORKS: SimulationXpress
    • Use SimulationXpress to create and run simulations of your designs. See how to identify areas for improvement, make iterative modifications, reevaluate, and finalize your models.
  • Course 2: SOLIDWORKS: Simulation for Finite Element Analysis
    • Discover how to set up a model for finite element analysis, run the analysis, and interpret the results to optimize your SOLIDWORKS models.
  • Course 3: SOLIDWORKS Simulation: Dynamic Analysis
    • Learn how to perform dynamic analysis—including transient analysis and frequency response analysis—using SOLIDWORKS Simulation.
  • Course 4: SOLIDWORKS: Advanced Simulation
    • Learn how to run advanced simulations to measure the stress and displacement of metal designs, using SOLIDWORKS Premium 2018.
  • Course 5: SOLIDWORKS: Shell and Beam Modeling in FEA
    • Learn how to handle thin-walled and frame-like structures in SOLIDWORKS FEA simulations using shell and beam element modeling.
