During The Three Kingdoms Period, Sima Yi, a general of the State of Wei, led a massive army of 150,000 troops, which marched in two directions and surrounded the western city of the State of Shu like an iron barrel.

蜀国丞相诸葛亮奉命驻守西城，随身只有几名文官和两千五百名军士，与司马懿的兵力对比悬殊。眼见蜀军势单力薄，城内空虚，情况万分危急。

Zhuge Liang, the Prime minister of Shu, was ordered to garrison the Western city with only a few civil officials and 2,500 soldiers, which was a great contrast to Sima Yi's forces. Seeing that the Shu army was weak, the city was empty, and the situation was extremely critical.
